 | | Marilyn Shorten | | Food Stylist | I qualified as a Cordon Bleu chef in the United Kingdom 25 years ago and then proceeded to cook my way around the world. This included running my own catering company in London and Johannesburg.
I became passionate about food styling 15 years ago. I trained under a number of well-known UK based food stylists. I then worked for various publications including BBC Good Food, as well as on a number of cookbooks.
On returning to South Africa I worked as a Food Editor for Food & Home before establishing myself as a freelance food stylist. I have worked on all forms of print and television commercials both locally and abroad. In addition to my food styling, I was intimately involved with the start-up of a food magazine in 2007. This included publishing, editorial, sales, recipe development and styling.

Since 2004 Jo has worked as a Camera Operator, Lighting Cameraman and D.O.P in various genres including reality TV, drama, documentaries and commercials. In 2008 Jo bought Steadicam for Film, Red One, High Definition and other big cameras... and he has never looked back. Jo has worked on 8 Seasons of the multi Emmy nominated Reality Series SURVIVOR CBS (Mark Burnett) and it has made him a highly respected professional in the international scene. Jo has also been working with various other international clients such as National Geographic, BBC, ABC and his work has taken him to 14 countries. In fact, Andre has a passion for extreme steadicam operating such as hanging off the side of mountains, quad biking, etc. Andre completed the CAMERA ASSISTANT AND LOADER‘S COURSE with Robert Wilson and Gideon Furst in 2009. This has increased his knowledge and understanding of lighting and composition and the demands of maintaining a camera for shooting purposes. This, along with his 4 years experience working at Visual Impact, makes Andre the perfect Camera/Sound/Lighting person. As an equipment controller, he became thoroughly familiar with all Sony digital cameras and the Panasonic Varicam.
In the sound department, he is familiar with most mixers and mics eg, rifle, lapels and radio mics.
As a result of his position at Visual, Andre has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
He is currently in training on Steadicam.

Recently co-ordinated and styled a a wedding reception for a client, held at Monte Casino in October. Brief included all decor, flowers, the cake and a themed food buffet on the arrival of the guests. Worked as an Interior Designer for private clients over the last fifteen years and in addition as a food stylist for the past five years. By diversifying Sheila has been able to enjoy many different and compelling challenges. Jobs have ranged from a complete re-build and specification and decoration of a bush lodge, to the implication of a purely decorative brief in a single room.
